Frequently Asked Questions:
+ Why should I hire a makeup artist on my wedding day?
Your wedding day will likely be one of the most photographed days of your life. Aside from being photographed from all angles, you'll also be dancing, kissing, and may even shed a few happy tears. Even if you are accustomed to doing your own makeup on a daily basis, contracting a professional makeup artist will ensure that you receive the most flawless finish that translates beautifully in photos, and will produce a timeless bridal look that stays fresh & fabulous all wedding long.
+ How far in advance should I book my services?
Due to a high volume of bridal inquiries, I am currently accepting bookings for bridal appointments exclusively for 2018. Please feel free to contact me for availability.
+ I'm interested! How do I book you?
To get started, simply fill out a contact form and I will respond to your inquiry via email as soon as possible.
+ Do you provide on-location services?
Yes! The majority of my services are done on-location. I will bring everything to you, so all you have to do is relax & enjoy the pampering!
+ How should I prepare for my makeup appointment?
Prior to your appointment, please be sure to wash and exfoliate your face, and apply your daily moisturizer. For a smooth lipstick application, please arrive with your lips gently exfoliated and moisturized with a lip balm.
+ What makeup products do you use?
I use a wide variety of professional grade, luxury makeup brands in my kit. Some of my favorites include: Dior, MAC, Chanel, Make Up Forever, Giorgio Armani, Temptu, Givenchy, and Marc Jacobs. I offer both traditional and airbrush makeup applications (see the difference between them below). If you have any product specifications due to allergies or particular skin concerns, please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.
+ Do you require a deposit for brides?
Yes. A non-refundable $50 deposit is required in order to hold your date. Your date will not be held without a deposit and signed bridal contract.
+ What forms of payment do you accept?
Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, PayPal, and the Venmo mobile app (completely free to download + no transfer fees). Direct credit card payments (unless transferred through Venmo or PayPal) are unfortunately not accepted at this time. Please note that all PayPal payments are subject to a 6% tax surcharge.
+ What are your traveling rates?
I am currently based in Parkersburg, WV. I mostly service the areas between Parkersburg and Morgantown, WV, but also travel to surrounding areas such as Charleston, WV and Marietta, OH. Beyond this radius, I only take a select number of destination weddings per year. If your location is 20+ miles outside of Parkersburg, there is a travel fee of $0.50 per mile (round trip). Hotel accommodations may apply.
+ What is the difference between airbrush & traditional makeup?
Airbrush makeup is a water-based makeup that is gently micro-misted onto the skin, creating lightweight yet flawless coverage. It is a hypoallergenic, paraben-free, oil-free and noncomedogenic formula that is perfect for all skin types, including the most sensitive skin. I highly recommend airbrush makeup to all brides and clients who want a "worry-free" application since it is waterproof, lasts up to 16 hours, and requires zero face touch-ups. The traditional makeup in my kit consists of professional grade luxury brands that will be customized in formula, texture and color to suit your unique complexion and skin type. Contact me so we can decide which option is best for you.
